These addictive crackers became a family favorite during the 2019 quail hunting season. Darrell, Emma, Ben and I had hunted together all day. When we got back to the lodge later in the afternoon, Emma pulled out a plastic container of these. We sat around chatting about what a great day we’d had while we snacked on these. Maybe they aren’t even as good as we think; maybe it’s the memory of a really nice day these crackers conjure up. Nevertheless, we love these crackers dubbed Quail Crackers on that very special South Georgia day.
Step 1: Spend the day outside and work up “a good thirsty”.
Step 2: Eat this, drink whatever(I recommend Jack Daniels, ginger ale and 2 lime wedges) and sit in front of a fire while you tell tall tales about things that are far from true, but make a good story.
RECIPE:
1 box of Mini-Saltines
1 envelope of Ranch dressing
1 cup vegetable oil
Garlic and onion salt to taste
Whisk (or shake) the oil and dressing together and pour over crackers. Gently stir or shake several times over about an hour to make sure crackers are evenly coated. Store in airtight container.
